To continue the nautical theme, I wrapped the edge of the frame in rope, creating a finishing touch that complements the artwork.

This is the first piece in my California Coastal Series. It depicts a small boat tied up at the dock in Dana Point, where the tall ship Pilgrim was once moored.

What first caught my attention was the reflection in the water. I wanted to recreate those shimmering reflections in my chosen medium of fabric and thread, using thousands of stitches to capture the movement and light.
