The California Coastal Series is a celebration of the landscapes, waters, and wildlife that make California such a remarkable place to call home. Inspired by my travels throughout the state, this series reflects my personal experiences of the beaches, harbors, lakes, lighthouses, and coastal communities that have captured my imagination over the years.
From tranquil shorelines and working boats to seabirds, marine life, and sweeping landscapes, each piece is based on places I have visited and moments I have experienced firsthand. Through these works, I seek to convey not only the visual beauty of California, but also the memories, emotions, and sense of connection that these special places inspire.
The series incorporates a variety of fiber art techniques, including thread painting, fiber sculpture, needle felting, and art quilting. By working in multiple media, I am able to explore the textures, colors, and forms of California's diverse coastal environment in ways that best express the spirit of each subject.
Through the California Coastal Series, I invite viewers to revisit cherished memories, discover new perspectives, and experience the enduring beauty of California's waters and landscapes.
