White Tank Mountain Cactus

This piece was inspired by a hike through Arizona's White Tank Mountains with a group of friends.

It was one of those perfect Arizona days, with clear skies and just the right temperature for exploring the trails. Along the way, I photographed sweeping desert landscapes, rugged rock formations, and countless cacti.

But one cactus stood apart from all the rest.

Standing alone against the desert landscape, it seemed almost as though it were quietly contemplating the world around it. Out of all the photographs I took that day, this was the image that stayed with me and ultimately became a thread painting.

Sometimes the simplest subjects have the strongest presence.
