At first glance, this is simply a red rose.
But for me, it became something much more personal.
This artwork serves as a tribute to a dear friend who loved red roses.
When she passed away, her final wish was to have her ashes scattered in a place she loved. Family and friends gathered aboard a whale-watching boat to celebrate her life. Her husband gently placed the urn, decorated with a single red rose tied with a red ribbon, onto the ocean.
The following day, while walking along the beach, he noticed something red lying in the sand.
It was a single red rose with a red ribbon.
Whether carried by the tides or returned by chance, the moment felt extraordinary to everyone who heard the story.
This piece was created in her memory and I sometimes call it "Carol's Rose."
